Murals

Artsy Alleys

At 13 years old, I designed and painted two murals in my hometown of Wilson, North Carolina, marking my first public art projects. The first mural, created during one year of the contest, celebrated Wilson’s agricultural roots with depictions of tobacco, cotton, and corn. After winning the contest, I collaborated with classmates to paint the design, dedicating afternoons, after-school sessions, and summer days to complete it.

The following year, I won again with a completely new design featuring sweet potatoes, green beans, and peanuts. Once more, I led the painting process with my classmates, bringing the mural to life over several months under challenging conditions. These two projects—despite being early work—remain installed downtown and represent my first experiences in public art, teamwork, and community-based design.
